Caddyshack, Jurassic Park, Grease were all classics; however, their sequels were actually used to torture prisoners at Guantanamo Bay — true story look it up. So when Mtv announced that it would be filming the Jersey Shore Season Two in Miami Beach, the city where everyday is like Mardi Gras, I was skeptical yet excited to watch the crew in action.
The first season was television gold that gave the nation a closer look into the guido and guidette lifestyle and a chance to see the sleeze fest that is the Jersey Shore. We had Ronnie going on roid-rages, the Situation doing his thing and J Woww having a huge set of personalities. America couldn’t get enough, myself included.
So there I was 40 minutes into the first episode and there was no partying, no fist-pumping, no knockout punches and no grenades. For a first episode, Mtv did a poor job of convincing me that they could produce a top-notch sequel. Sure Road Rules and Real World are still going on, but those were with new casts in new cities and this time Mtv was going into unchartered water with the same cast in a different city.
Yes, of course I was introduced to a new term (Landmine) which I will now add to my vocabulary, but come on I need my Guido fix and the first episode ruined my day. I mean couldn’t J Woww have at least just started a catfight with Angelina in that cab.
The plot of the episode was so scripted and boring that I believe it probably was written by Snooki. Here it goes; all the girls still hate Angelina and want to fight her, Sammi still likes Ronnie, Ronnie just wants to party, Vinnie is still irrelevant and Situation and Pauli D still have a bromance.
I’m not saying that JS2 can’t make a comeback in episode two, but I am saying it better step its game up before it I start watching Real Housewives of New Jersey to get my guido fix. You hear me Ronnie, go punch someone and stop hooking up with landmines!!! One shot kid, one shot.
